Support Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon’s work by attending fun-filled events and engaging with the community. Community Outreach Volunteers will develop knowledge of hunger-related issues while growing his/her communication, community engagement, and outreach skills.
Volunteers will act as a representative for PHFO at Community Care Festivals on Saturday, May 28th 2016.
Tabling is an effective way to educate others about hunger and poverty related issues that are happening in our community. It provides a great platform to engage in conversation and offer information on how we can end hunger together.
Volunteers will help:
- Set-up and break-down;
- meet and greet the public;
- distribute materials;
- take down contact information as necessary for people interested in volunteering
- and, answer questions.
Please contact Engagement VISTA, Clarissa at clarissa@oregonhunger.org for more information.

Mission Statement
We envision an Oregon where everyone is healthy and thriving, with access to affordable, nutritious and culturally appropriate food. To bring that vision into reality, we raise awareness about hunger, connect people to nutrition programs, and advocate for systemic changes that end hunger before it begins.
Description
Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon works to end hunger before it begins by addressing its root causes. We believe hunger is an income issue. Therefore our goal is to build economic stability, ensuring that all Oregonians have sufficient means and ready access to nutritious, quality food. Guided by our 5- year plan "Ending - Hunger Before it Begins: Oregon’s Call to Action," our goals are to:
Increase economic stability for people, communities, and the state.
Cultivate a strong regional food system in Oregon.
Improve the food assistance safety net.
