The Lakeville Food Shelf has volunteer positions available to help prepare grocery orders for clients when they come in to our food shelf to pick up needed food items.
COVID-19 safety protocols:
1. Only Volunteers are allowed inside the food shelf area, at this time, we do not have clients come in to our food shelf.
2, All volunteers are required to wear a mask while volunteering
3. We pre-pack groceries for families and bring the groceries outside to the families vehicle.
4. Families stay in their vehicles
5. We ask volunteers to wash their hands upon arriving for their shift
6. Volunteers will do frequent surface disinfecting through out their shift
Depending on the volunteer role, our volunteers: stock or organize the Food Shelf, pack meat, dairy and fresh items for clients, weigh groceries and deliver to a clients vehicle, sort delivered of food items, check dates and stock the donated food. We ask volunteers to be willing to commit to a minimum of one three hour shift per week on an ongoing basis.
Volunteer opportunity:
Tuesdays 10a-3pm
Thursdays 3pm- 6pm - Shift Lead Volunteer Shifts available
Saturdays 9am-12pm - Shift Lead Volunteer Shifts available

Our food shelf is always in need of paper grocery bags. Please feel free to drop off any gently used and clean bags on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon - 6 pm to the food shelf located at Messiah Lutheran Church, 16725 Highview Ave, Lakeville.

Founded more than 40 years ago by a group of volunteers, 360 Communities provides hope and support to more than 17,500 individuals each year with services in over 40 locations, including a network of five food shelves, two resource centers, two sexual and domestic violence shelters, and two programs that support school success from birth through high school graduation. About 1,000 volunteers donate their time, energy and talent in support of 360 Communities every year.
360 Communities delivers a full circle of support to families through its strong network of programs, resources, and community partners. No matter how a person enters 360 Communities, staff and volunteers engage them to identify the root causes of their problems and provide resources to help them onto a path toward self-sustained success.
