Turning Points has a special volunteer opportunity and hope you, your church or organization might be willing to help. Over the years a very special Turning Points volunteer has cultivated friendships with nine local business collecting gently used athletic shoes twice a month for Turning Points and brings them to another volunteer. This second volunteer and her son discard any footwear not acceptable, replacing laces when needed plus mating each pair. She then brings them to Turning Points ready to be donated to clients.
This is a large project which takes approximately 60 hours per month. Turning Points is looking for a group of 6-8 people willing to split the pickup and then one or two people making the delivery to the second volunteer. Most of the businesses are in Sarasota so this is a perfect project for an individual or group either in Sarasota or Lakewood Ranch.
We would ask that if you yourself can't volunteer for this that you please share this project with others on social media and see if there is any potential for volunteers among your friends and co-workers. Thank you in advance for your help.
