GLOW Foundation has partnered with UNCW to provide a tuition-free camp to nominated rising 5th grade girls from our community. Three different camps are offered at UNCW including an engineering camp, marine science camp, and an environmental art camp. All three camps are a week long experience, June 20th - 24th. This is a tuition free camp that includes transportation to and from camp at UNCW, breakfast, lunch and snack, and loads of fun learning all week long!
Volunteers are needed for:
- Bus Supervisor for the AM bus routes.
- June 20th - 24th, 6:30am to 8:30am
- Bus Supervisor for the PM bus routes.
- June 20th - 24th, 3:00pm to 5:00pm
- Celebration Picnic Volunteer (i.e. face painters, food servers, summer reading book distribution, etc)
- June 24th, 4:00pm to 6:30pm

Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington is a 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Our goal is to provide a safe learning environment for girls to flourish by closing achievement and opportunity gaps of first generation, college-bound young women.
Description
GLOW Academy is a college prep and leadership school with a curriculum in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). Our school is focused towards grades 6 through 12 and is expected to be up and running August 2016. We are devoted to advancing leadership and healthy life skills of young women while providing an environment for college bound success. One means of addressing Girls Leadership Academy Of Wilmington’s mission is to provide young women with an array of exciting and engaging events, internships, and academic camps. GLOW’s Summer Leadership Academy and Angela Uhl Wagner Learning Circle provide our young participants with thought provoking and engaging activities that we hope will cultivate an interest in making positive choices about education, community engagement and lifestyles.
