The Seattle Choral Compan y is preparing for our June 13th concerts, " Jazz Mass: a fusion of heaven and earth ", and we are looking for volunteers to help put on the show. We would love to have you join us to help out as a front-of-house usher for one or both concerts. Volunteers receive FREE admission to the concert for which they attend.
Details:
- Date: Saturday, June 13th
- Location : Saint Mark's Cathedral on Seattle's Capitol Hill (1245 10th Ave East)
- Time: The concert starts at 8:00 p.m., but we ask volunteers to arrive between 6:00 and 6:15 for orientation and to prepare for patrons arriving at 7:00. The concert should be over by about 10:00 or so, and clean-up is expected to be done by 10:30. We can work with you if you would like to volunteer but timing is an issue - just let us know.
- Attire: Business casual in some combination of black, white, and cranberry/dark red.
- Concert details: A compelling new jazz-inspired choral mass that fuses classical with jazz and gospel by American born Steve Dobrogosz. We will be joined by William Chapman Nyaho at th e piano, and the Talvi String Quartet. The concert also includes "The Making of the Drum" -- a set of choral songs on African drum rituals. Finally, we offer the first performance of Donald Skirvin’s "Curve of Gold," a brilliant suite set to the poetry of Sara Teasdale.
