The Area V Agency on Aging operates as an Adult and Disability Resource Center for counties in southwest Montana. The Agency strives to serve all seniors & adults with disabilities to provide them access to available services in their area, and will work to expand its resource base to help create new program opportunities where services are lacking.
The VISTA will work with staff, volunteers, and sub-contractors to develop a volunteer program that is consistent with national SMP guidelines and will better serve the public, specifically low-income seniors and Veterans in rural communities. The VISTA will develop and implement volunteer policies and procedures consistent with SMP guidelines; implement consistent processes on interviewing, screening and training; and evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program. The VISTA will also create and build upon relationships in the rural communities served and build a coalition of stakeholders who will help to combat healthcare fraud. *A privately owned vehicle is required for this service assignment.

The Prevention Resource Center VISTA Project connects Montana communities, the Interagency Coordinating Council for State Prevention Programs, and the AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) throughout the state of Montana. It strives to keep Montana children, communities and families strong and resilient against risks such as unintended and unhealthy pregnancies, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse, crime and violence, and high school drop-outs.
