Thank you for your interest in helping with the Head for the Cure 5K- Metro KC. Head for the Cure is a national nonprofit that raises money for the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, with a portion staying local at KU Cancer Center and Solace House. Our events would not be successful in their fundraising and awareness goals without the help of our many volunteers!

The 5K race will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Corporate Woods in Overland Park, KS. We will need volunteers on the day of the event. We are expecting over 5,000 event goers, so we need LOTS of volunteers. All ages and abilities are welcome; please let the volunteer coordinator know if there are any special concerns or children under age 13 volunteering.

About Head for the Cure Foundation

Mission Statement

The Head for the Cure Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding in the fight against brain cancer. In 2004, funds raised by Head for the Cure enabled the seed money to launch the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative (BTTC) at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

Description

The 5K events are not only successful fundraisers, but unique tributes to those who are fighting brain cancer and those who have lost their battles. Their memories carry on through the teams that formed around them, and the teams return year after year to celebrate their legacies.
