Art Museum Seeking Summer Camp Volunteers

Summer Art Camp at the PMoA focuses on unleashing campers’ imagination, creativity, and passion for art. Summer Art Camp will introduce campers to various media and artistic expression through explorations of exhibition spaces and engaging projects. Each week campers have new projects for an immersive artistic experience.

Anyone who wants to volunteer at the PMoA’s Summer Art Camp must complete a volunteer application and have it approved before working with children. The volunteer application can be found on out website http://www.pensacolamuseum.org or you can contact Valerie Peacock, Education and Volunteer Coordinator by phone at 850.432.6247 or email at vpeacock1@uwf.edu .

The following are duties that the volunteer should do as necessary but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the prep of the projects for the day
  • Washing brushes and other materials as needed
  • Passing out the materials needed for the project
  • Assisting campers with any help that they might need (i.e. helping a camper with cutting)
  • Using tools to assist campers that they can not use (i.e hot glue gun)
  • Ensuring the safety of campers at all times both inside the classroom and at other facilities (i.e Historic Village or Pensacola Children’s Museum)
  • Periodically checking the bathrooms used by students and cleaning paint, pastels, etc off walls and sinks.
