We will be in need of 5-6 volunteers for this summer. We would like 1 volunteer for each class (5 classes) and a floating volunteer helping with odds and ends with programming.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Work with program staff to develop, organize and implement activities for each class on a daily basis and arranging for a variety of activities for the participants to engage in. A variety of activities may be required but decision making is minimal.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
*Organizes recreational and educational groups.
*Supervises game areas.
*Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
Abides by all specific program related and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal and external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or visual media.
Performs other program related duties as assigned.

Description
Since 1875, Heartland Family Service has responded to the needs of our area’s most vulnerable children and families. Each year the agency’s programs serve over 50,000 individuals of all ages -- from infants in our Family Works program to seniors in our Generations Community Center -- from more than 15 locations in east central Nebraska and southwest Iowa. PREVENTION: Inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment, OWI/DUI classes, problem gambling treatment

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: 24-hour hotline; individual and group counseling services for victims; concealed emergency shelter for adults and their children; educational group for individuals who abuse
EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT: Services for children, refugees and their families; training and support for child care providers
MENTAL HEALTH: Counseling for children and adults; therapeutic K-12 school; support for chronic mental health illnesses; integrated health home services
HOMELESSNESS & FINANCIAL STABILITY: Hardship assistance for rent, utilities, medications; transitional and permanent supportive housing; donation center
