This is a short-term volunteer opportunity to work with a disabled client.
Client recently had a total knee replacement and can't stand for long, is home bound, has young child. Volunteer will help client to cut up food one time a week, and maybe cook a few meals to go in the refrigerator.
Client also has two small dogs that she would like to be walked.
Volunteer should have food handler's permit or experience working in restaurant.
Temporary volunteer position, only until client heals enough to make her own meals.

Description
Volunteer Chore Services (VCS) began in 1981 as a grassroots response to State-wide budget cuts that left 4,000 elders without chore services. Over the years VCS has proven itself to be a cost-effective safety net for those who do not qualify for the State's assistance and cannot afford to purchase services.
Volunteers opportunities such as housework, laundry, transportation, shopping and similar independent living requests enable clients to remain in their homes with dignity and a sense of belonging to their community.
