We have 50-100 animal rescue organizations participating in our one-day mega adoption annual fair. Dogs, cats, mini horses and other small animals are brought to this site with the goal of getting them adopted into loving, caring homes.

Volunteers are needed in the early morning to help the numerous rescue organizations unload their animals and gear from their vehicles so that they can set up their booths. Midday volunteers are needed to walk dogs, bring water to the rescues, assist with the various pet contests and raffles, etc. Late afternoon volunteers are needed to help the rescue organizations load their animals and gear back into their vehicles.

No special skills are required other than being conscientious and reliable.

Mission Statement

Canine Adoption Netework is a non-profit organization - 501 (c) 3 - licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture to assist with homeless and/or abused animals. We are a subsidiary of SaveTheHorses.org

Canine Adoption Network is a group of dedicated individual foster homes that work to better the lives of companion animals. Our experience as animal rescuers and pet owners has given us first hand knowledge of the desperate plight of companion animals in today's society. Our mission is to place the animals that we are able to assist in the very best possible homes, no matter how long that may take.

We are a Group of Foster Homes in North Metro Atlanta, GA.

Description

All our dogs live in our nuturing foster homes and are socialized with other animals. They are not kept in kennels. All dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm prevention prior to adoption.

Dogs come from various places, rural and Metro Atlanta animal control facilities, strays, the hurt, the injured, the hungry, the afraid and lonely, the mistreated, we take as many as we can with the help of foster homes and donations.

The deepening foreclosure crisis also is having an effect. A growing number of pet owners are abandoning their pets or surrendering them to shelters after losing their homes or being forced into housing that doesn't allow animals. We've seen where people have abandoned dogs in the house, we've seen dogs that have been surviving for weeks on toilet water, we've seen dogs that have either been chained up outside or left in the yard when the people have left, we've seen pets who are just set free.
