If you enjoy working with kids and are interested in science, history, and art, our summer Museum Teen Internship program is an excellent opportunity to gain some work experience while having fun.

Teen interns interact with our visitors to help them explore and enjoy the Museum, and will have the opportunity to assist in executing our summer camps for kids ages 4-8. Interns are responsible for maintaining the galleries, engaging families with exhibits, and assisting staff with Museum tasks.

Benefits include training, free garage parking, free Museum passes, and valuable work experience. Each Museum Teen Intern will receive a letter at the end of the summer documenting their hours and experience to share with schools or future employers.

Description

The Virginia Discovery Museum is a hands-on children's museum for youth to enjoy learning and playing with their families. In addition to permanent child-based exhibits for visitors to explore, the Virginia Discovery Museum also holds a number of educational programs and special events throughout the year. With the Sponsored Admission program developed in collaboration with local schools, social service agencies, cultural institutions and governing groups, VDM aims to be a resource for as many families in the Charlottesville community as possible.
