PURPOSE

The Planned Giving Advisory Committee is responsible for developing and implementing the Planned Giving Program. It is the prime group that will provide the structure and the process designed to stimulate interest in the program. It is also responsible for cultivating and soliciting current and future gifts that require the use of estate planning techniques or that have significant financial and tax consequences.

COMPOSITION

Community leaders who are dedicated to Henderson County Habitat for Humanity and who understand planned giving concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and monitor planned giving activities for the year

Develop Legacy Society levels, benefits and recognition

Identify and evaluate planned giving prospects

Solicit planned giving prospects

Create marketing plan for planned gifts

Serve as a representative for the planned giving program as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Know planned giving ethics

Understand the case for planned gifts

Has credibility as a leader

Willing to join one of the Habitat Club Levels within a year of joining the committee

Capable of identifying prospects with the ability and willingness to make a planned gift to HCHFH

Willing to meet during scheduled meetings and events

Willing to ask for planned gifts face-to-face

TIME REQUIREMENTS

The committee will meet monthly during the organizational stages and thereafter on an as-needed basis, including planned giving events
