Miami-Dade Parks is hosting a beach clean up event in Key Biscayne, Miami. We are looking to involve youth to educate the community on issues impacting the marine environment in Miami.

The event at Crandon Park Nature Center may include, mulching, landscaping, planting, and painting turtle stakes, depending on our final volunteer count.

Enter Crandon Park using the North Beach Entrance. We will provide you with a parking pass to place on your car’s dashboard. Once you arrive to the toll booth, show this pass to the attendant and your parking fee will be waived. Once you pass the toll booth on the North entrance of the beach, make an immediate left turn and head to the far left of the park (you will pass a field on your right and continue down) where you will come across the Nature Center building. Feel free to park as close to the building as possible.

Event-Check In: Head over to the Nature Center’s main entrance where registration/check-in will be located. Check-in is scheduled to take place at 9am. Volunteers will have to execute the waiver and photo release document that we will have on site, they will be given their project assignment and receive gloves in this area.

*Please bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and reusable water bottle.

Mission Statement

Pack of Dogs is a kids volunteer task force that assists charities with their activities. POD is committed to creating community leaders for tomorrow. Our aspiration is to guide and inspire children to volunteer in South Florida at a young age, cultivating their giving side early on so in their adult life they will continue to serve. We believe that keeping children involved in the community will shape them into independent, community-based individuals that have a sense of commitment in making the world a better place no matter the choice of career.

Description

Pack of Dogs is a kids volunteer task force that assists charities with their activities. We are are a group committed to helping non-profits one task at a time to promote a stronger and healthier community for the future.

While some children might be natural-born leaders, all kids can develop leadership skills with the right guidance. At Pack of Dogs, we teach kids leadership skills to boost self-esteem, improve communication skills, teach them to identify personal strengths and weaknesses and encourage them to learn how to work with others.

Engaging your children in charity activities regularly helps them develop better leadership skills.
