We devote ourselves to preventing suicide and other self-destructive behavior by listening actively and empathetically to people in distress, offering them emotional support without judgment. Since volunteers make our service possible, we are committed to providing an enriched, rewarding volunteer experience.
Description
Caring Contact is a caring and crisis hotline offering the gift of listening to callers in need throughout New Jersey.
As part of a nationwide network of crisis hotlines affiliated with the International Council of Helplines, Caring Contact is dedicated to preventing suicide and making a positive difference in people's lives. The service, provided by highly trained volunteers, is free and confidential.
CONTACT's local hotline number is (908) 232-2880.
Caring Contact is also a member of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, now called 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and answers calls from individuals in 5 counties in New Jersey and nationally.
