Summer Camp at Ronald McDonald House Houston is a fun way to teach, engage, and support child patients and their siblings living at the Ronald McDonald House! The care, fun, and enthusiasm shown by camp counselors is a valuable gift to our families with a child receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.
Ronald McDonald House Houston offers a home away from home for families with seriously ill children being treated in the Texas Medical Center. Summer Day camp provides an opportunity for the patients and their siblings to make incredible memories while in the midst of what could be a very difficult time for their family.
We are looking for one-two adults (18 years or older) to serve as summer day camp instructors for a small group of elementary and middle schoolers ages 6 years old and up. Summer camp will be held on-site at our free-standing location at 1907 Holcombe Blvd. The minimum time commitment is 5 days: June 20th - June 24th, from 12pm-4pm. Applicants do not necessarily need to be certified teachers, but do need to have experience working or volunteering with children. If interested, please call Kimberlyn Clarkson at 713-795-3593.

Description
Ronald McDonald House Houston opened its doors in 1981 to offer a home away from home to the families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions. Houston's RMH operates several locations that offer home-like environments to these seriously ill children and their families:
- 70 bedroom House on Holcombe Boulevard
- 20 bedroom House inside Texas Children's Hospital
- 14 bedroom House inside Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital
- 10 Family Rooms at Texas Children's Hospital
- 4 Family Rooms at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital
- 2 bedrooms and 1 Family Room at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center
Each of these facilities serves a different population. The Holcombe House is generally home to families from outside Houston while the in-hospital facilities primarily serve families from the greater Houston area. At RMH Houston, the families find comfort, encouragement and support from volunteers, staff and other families, who share similar experiences, during an unimaginably difficult time in their lives.
Ronald McDonald House Houston is able to provide these services because of the generous gifts of time and financial support provided by individuals, companies, and foundations throughout the Houston community.
