ORGANIZATION: Rescuing Leftover Cuisine Inc

This opportunity is available every Monday-Friday night!

Organic packaged food and drinks along with high-quality bread and baked goods will be rescued with your help! This event will last about 35 minutes and will finish at the Bowery Mission, located at 227 Bowery.

The average amount of food rescued on this event varies greatly, from about 10 pounds to over 100! We're always happy to have extra hands on this pickup, but please be aware that some days will have less donations than others.

The mission of RLC is to redistribute excess food to feed people experiencing food insecurity.

Description

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
