Equessense Therapuetic Horse Play is hosting a Summer Day Camp on Wednesdays and Thursdays for nine weeks this summer. Each week will have mounted and non-mounted activities for day campers. We will need help supporting participants on horses and guiding creative and science activities in the other centers. This is a fun and rewarding opportunity. We are a 503c3 so all hours can be credidted. We also offer letters on recomendation when appropriate.

Equessense, Therapeutic Horse Play utilizes very special horses in a therapeutic approach to enhance the lives of individuals with a wide range of abilities and needs. Our mission is to help meet the growing need for alternative therapies and inclusive recreational opportunities for people with disabilities at a nominal fee that would exclude on one who could benefit from our services.
Description
Equestrian therapy is widely recognized as a beneficial method of intervention for people with physical, mental, emotional, developmental or sensory deficits. Research has produced solid evidence that animal-assisted therapy in the form of a structured horse-back riding program not only reduces the manifestations of the rider's disability but enables him or her to gain valuable skills in other areas as well. Equessense offers individualized riding programs for every rider based on specific goals pertaining to that rider. For virtually every need that a rider might have, the horse offers a specific healing solution. Under the supervision of a trained facilitator the horse becomes a wise teacher, a sensitive therapist and a trusted friend.
