Mission Statement
New Eyes for the Needy empowers children and adults in the United States and overseas with the improved vision they need to pursue a better quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities.
New Eyes purchases new prescription glasses through a voucher program for children and adults in the U.S. who cannot afford glasses on their own. New Eyes accepts, recycles and distributes donated glasses for poor people overseas.
Description
We are proud of our 84-year legacy of providing clear vision to those in need. The prescription eyeglasses we provide enable children to succeed in school, senior citizens to continue living independently, and working-poor adults to maintain employment.
Since its founding in 1932, New Eyes has helped 388,000 children and adults in the United States to see clearly. In addition, we've recycled more than 7,400,000 pair of eyeglasses, helping hundreds of thousands of indigent people in developing nations.
