Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating students about financial literacy, workforce readiness, and entrepreneurship. We offer curriculum for grades K - 12, which aligns with common core standards for Math, English and Language Arts. JA curriculum is delivered by volunteers or parents. JA volunteers are not only trained and prepared to teach the JA curriculum to students, but they are also encouraged to share their life and work experience with the students to bring the curriculum to life.
At Griffith Middle School, we are bringing curriclum to 7th graders and need volunteers who are interested in teaching middle school students for ONE SCHOOL DAY. JA curriclum is engaging, hands on, and beneficial to our students. You will be trained and given material. All you need to do is briefly prep before you get into the classroom. The teacher will be in the classroom with you for the entire day, so you do not have to have prior experience in the classroom or working with students.

To educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics in order to improve the quality of their lives.
Description
Junior Achievement of Southern California is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Our three pillars of success: entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness, are helping prepare young people for the real world by showing the economic relevance of staying in school, building self-confidence, and inspiring them to dream big for their futures.
At JA Finance Park, students are given a unique life profile after answering a series of future lifestyle questions. Their life profile includes an income, marital status, even kids! Using this new adult persona, students work to create a balanced monthly budget while making decision regarding housing, transportation, insurance, savings, entertainment expenses and much more.
