The Florida Department of Health in Lake County is partnering with Keep Lake Beautiful to faciliate a Community Clean-up event on Saturday, May 21st from 9 am to 12 pm.
Residents are being encouraged to clean up their homes and yards and bring excess trash, tires, and bulk items for proper disposal. Lake County's Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Unit will be on-site to accept household hazardous waste such as paint, fuel, unwanted medications, etc.
We need volunteers to greet residents who come by to drop off waste for disposal, help collect waste for disposal, and assist in organizing the clean-up efforts, and even picking up trash and waste around the lake areas at the volunteer sites. There are many different roles you can play to help out with this effort to Keep Lake Beautiful!
Keep Lake Beautiful and its sponsors will provide gloves, safety vests, trash bags and water for all volunteers. Participants should bring their own sunscreen and insect repellent, and should wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
