Safety Town Assistant at Gifford Elementary

ORGANIZATION: Parks and Recreation Department, City of Elgin

Safety Town is a one week program for 4 - 6 year old children that teaches lessons on stranger danger, pedestrian safety, fire safety, bicycle safety and water safety.

Volunteer assistants will help the staff teach children safe behavior. The children will be role-playing, riding tricycles in a replica town and practicing pedestrian safety.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Attend volunteer orientation, sign a waiver and have a background check (provided by the city).
