ARTISTS TALK ON ART IS A FORTY SOMETHING YEAR OLD ARTS ORGANIZATION THAT PRESENTS PERIODIC PANELS OF INTEREST TO THE ART COMMUNITY AND GENERAL PUBLIC CURRENTLY AT THE NATIONAL ARTS CLUB. OUR FORTY YEAR ARCHIVE OF AUDIO AND VISUAL TAPES IN BEING DIGITIZED AND HAS BEEN ACCEPTED BY THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION ARCHIVE OF AMERICAN ART. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROJECT.

WE ARE IN NEED OF A PR WRITER, PREFERABLY WITH ART WORLD EXPERIENCE OR BACKGROUND THAT CAN INTERACT WITH THE SMITHSONIAN IN DEVOLOPING, VETTING AND DISSEMINATING RELEASES REGARDING THIS ACQUISITION AS IT UNFOLDS, ALSO INVOLVEMENT WITH OUR ONGOING EVENTS IN NYC AND A VARIETY OF OTHER PROJECTS AS THEY MAY OCUR. GOOD BASIC PR WRITING SKILLS ESSENTIAL ALONG WITH ACCESS TO MAILING/EMAILING LISTS AND SOME SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE WORKED EITHER INDIVIDUALLY OR WITH A PR FIRM, HAVE A DEGREE IN PUBLIC RELATIONS AND POSSIBLY HAVE ACCESS TO OBTAINING MAILING LISTS OF ART WORLD EDITORS, CRITICS, MAGAZINES

Founded in 1974, ATOA is the art world's longest running and most prolific panel discussion series. Over 8,500 artists and other art world members have been presented and documented in more than 1,400 events in New York City. The Archive of American Art of the Smithsonian is the official depository of all past and future ATOA audio and visual materials.
