Kindred Hospice's mission is to help patients remain at home and in their own communities surrounded by friends and family, while receiving the highest-quality, most compassionate care possible at end-of-life. The hospice team usually consists of the person receiving care, the patient’s family and loved ones, the patient’s personal physician, our medical director, nurses, certified nursing assistants, social workers, counselors and spiritual caregivers, trained volunteers, and other professionals such as speech, physical, and occupational therapists, as needed.

Kindred Hospice cares for patients in facilities and homes throughout Massachusetts. Volunteers can choose where, when and how to give their time. We offer orientations and trainings to fit your busy schedule.

As massage therapists, you are already aware of the benefits of your profession. Many of our patients and families struggle every day with anxiety, pain, and distress. With the added stressor of a terminal diagnosis, they can easily become overwhelmed and lose quality of life. Massage therapy volunteers can assist patients and families in decreasing their stress and anxiety levels. These volunteers can help provide some much needed relaxation as well.
