Birmingham Zoo
Docents are volunteer educators with training will develop the knowledge and skills to educate zoo visitors. This interactive training program teaches volunteers about animals, plants, and conservation of the Earth's flora and fauna. Docents serve a vital role in helping the Birmingham Zoo reach its mission of inspiring a passion for the natural world by providing a diverse educational experience to our many visitors each year. Docents give tours of the Zoo, present animals, interpret Zoo exhibits, educate thousands of school children each year, and other important programs and events at the Zoo.
