Compassionate Volunteers for Human Rights Advocacy

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: MindFreedom International

  • 6 people are interested

Grounded, caring volunteers needed to offer support and resources by telephone and email to individuals experiencing infringements on their human rights. Our office provides a wealth of resources for volunteers to offer at their discretion, and training so that volunteers have the confidence and comfortability to work independently. Volunteers must work out of our office space, and use our telephone lines and email accounts. If you are interested in having a beneficial effect on people experiencing isolation and a lack of support and enjoy independence, please contact us.

Mission Statement

Since our establishment in 1990, MindFreedom International has been dedicated to challenging psychiatric human rights violations (e.g. forced drugging, forced electroshock therapy, forced institutionalization, etc.) while promoting safe, humane, and effective treatments in mental health care. We aim to lead a non-violent revolution of equality, truth, and human rights that unites psychiatric survivors through movements for justice everywhere.

Description

We are a non-profit under IRS 501(c)(3), and we are the only group of its kind accredited by the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with Consultative Roster Status.
