For Goodness Cakes is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to match volunteers to bake birthday cakes for at risk and disadvantaged youth. As of March 2017 we have delivered over 200 birthday cakes since our inception in last year with plans to grow significantly over the next few years.

For Goodness Cakes is seeking a volunteer Development Director in Los Angeles, CA to assist the Executive Director in boosting fundraising efforts.

This position is meant to begin as a volunteer but can turn into a paid position based on future available funding.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Executive Director on a comprehensive fundraising plan including research and outreach to individual donors, foundations, corporations, etc.
• Develop relationships with donors and foundations in order to drive contributions to the organization
• Craft messaging, email, and correspondence with potential and current donors
• Assist in planning and hosting small fundraising events
• Research and implement a donor database to then manage

Qualifications:

• Must be able to demonstrate ability to complete the above responsibilities either through previous volunteer or professional activities
