Non-profit organization committed to promoting safe and strong families and breaking the cycle of violence is seeking a Support Group Facilitator for parenting program. This program is a series of support groups, parenting skills workshops, and individualized programming, such as vocational support, for fathers and mothers seeking to become better parents. Primarily reaching out to young men, ages 16-24, this program aims to help young fathers be supportive, nurturing parents.
The volunteer will conduct a weekly support group with parents/caregivers; report progress/notes; deliver/facilitate the curriculum within a dynamic group context; willing to potentially travel to Antioch, Concord, or Richmond. Previous experience and skills working with support groups, and preferably with young parents.
