Give the gift of presence. Heritage Hospice is actively recruiting patient/family volunteers to make friendly visits in the greater Indiana and Johnston areas. Visits are low key and casual and can include listening, talking, sitting with patients and occasionally light housekeeping (home patients).
We customize the experience for you including locations (home or care facilities), length (30 mins to an hour) & frequency of visits (1-2x a month or weekly). Volunteers do not provide personal care.

Description
Heritage Hospice is a family-founded hospice that takes pride in providing our patients with comfort, dignity and peace either in the comfort of their own home or in a skilled facility of their choice.
Hospice care treats the whole person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs in the last phase of life. These services may be provided at home, in an inpatient facility, nursing home or in another setting that best suits the needs of the patient and caregivers. Hospice care helps the person to live at home or in the most comfortable setting as long as possible, stay as active as possible, express and accept feelings, assists the family to care for their loved one, manage practical tasks, deal with stress, provide support and feel at peace.
