Help teach English to refugee and immigrant students through Alief ISD’s Summer Language Institute (SLI) program! For the fourth consecutive year, Sewa Houston has partnered with SLI to help newly-arrived 4 th to 11 th graders prepare for school in the fall. Volunteers must come at least one day a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The program will be held at Olle Middle School (9200 Boone Rd, Houston, TX 77099).

Mission Statement
Sewa USA is a grass-root organization aspiring to spread the message of service to low income families of Houston (SEWA). Whether it is a disaster or a daily struggle for an average person, committed volunteers of Sewa take that extra mile to ensure that a helping hand and a loving heart is not away from the individuals in need, wherever they are and whenever they need it. When Katrina hit in Louisiana , hundreds of families came with Sewa to provide food and shelter to the victims of the disasters. We opened our homes for affected people and provided helping hand. Similarly Sewa volunteers and affiliated NGOs worked to provide relief to victims of Ike in Galveston, Tsunami in South Asia, flood in Guyana and so on. We carry the same spirit of service in day to day life and wish to make this world a better place with every moment we live.
