The Ladybug House’s goal is to become the national palliative care leader for youth and adolescents with life-limiting illnesses, inspiring similar homes in cities and towns across the country. As a nonprofit, the goal of Ladybug House is to build and operate a freestanding community-based Palliative Care Home based in Seattle. We will offer no out of pocket costs for end-of-life care to children and adolescents with life-limiting illnesses and family respite from the daily demands of caring for a medically fragile child.

We are looking for a couple marketing and social media specialists to join our marketing team. Our goal is to support the various communication, marketing, public relations, events, and other needs.

This is a great opportunity for writers to develop skills with social media, oral communication, writing, publicity, special events, and more.

Help research potential media outlets and blogs to cover our site, e-mail our press releases, and keep track of coverage of our site that has occurred. Promote the website by updating our Facebook, Twitter and other social media pages, attract new followers, and interact with our existing followers. Marketing experience preferred, must be very familiar with social media, be organized and be good at communicating.

You may work at the Ladybug House office, located in downtown Seattle, or at home.

Hours: Five hours a week, flexible and project based

We are looking for at least a 6 month commitment.

Mission Statement

If we cannot add days to the life of a child, we will add life to their days.

Description

Ladybug House is a grassroots organization working to build Washington's first free standing, community based palliative care home with end-of-life support for children, adolescents and young adults with life limiting illnesses in Seattle. Ladybug House seeks to support families and loved ones, providing rest and rejuvenation for caregivers in a respectful, loving atmosphere. We hope to bring the comfort of home to a medical setting that also meets the emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of each family. If needed, Ladybug House will bridge the gap between home and hospital, offering a place of solace for hospice care.
