Migration Celebration
ORGANIZATION: Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge
Please visit the new page to apply.
On Saturday, May 14th, the Deer Flat NWR Visitor Center will be getting ready for some migration madness with Migration Olympics activities, Bird Karaoke, live animals, and wildlife-centered craft activities.
Volunteers at Migration Celebration have the opportunity to help with set-up and clean-up, be a greeter at the welcome table, be a craft table attendant, host an activity station, photograph the event, or wear the mascot costume of the blue goose. Volunteers will be needed from 12:30 - 6p, and food will be provided at the end of the event.
This is a great opportunity to celebrate animal endurance athletes and give back to the community. Volunteers will receive an orientation to their station and do NOT have to be experts.
Respond with at least 3 jobs you are interested in volunteering for at the Migration Celebration:
Welcome Table - Welcome visitors and provides information on the event
Activity station host - Staff a station around the visitor and teach kids about refuge wildlife
Photographer - Visually document all the fun!
Craft Table Attendant - Assist visitors with wildlife-related crafts
Mascot- Wear the Blue Goose costume, the symbol of the National Wildlife Refuge System
Parking Attendant/Shuttle driver - Direct traffic or shuttle visitors from parking area to event (must be over 18)
*** ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE AGE 16 OR OLDER***
Must register as a volunteer by May 7, 2016
