Are you in the medical profession, or looking at Health Services for a possible career? Does the health profession intrigue you?
Our Health Coordinator Volunteer/Intern is responsible for assisting the Early Head Start Health Coordinators in health management for Early Head Start families.
Assist Early Head Start Health Coordinators, (yes Coordinators - we have two) by supporting during case management involvement with families which includes phone calls, outreach services, child & parent education, goal setting, family assessment, and completing all program paperwork. You will have the opportunity to shadow Early Head Health Coordinators during home visits, parent & child involvement activities including playgroups, and family outings. You will learn about community resources, and refer families to appropriate community agencies.
As I'm sure you already know, there is a lot of filing in the medical field. You will assist in maintaining participant files including documentation of health records, and planned screenings for families. Quite a bit of clerical duties necessary.
