OAHC Bear Mountain Hiking Trip April 2016

The Outdoor Adventure & Hiking Club is a recently created club for high school age Girl Scouts in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, which began in February 2016.

The club continues to grow and we are looking for two dedicated volunteer Club Leaders whom are passionate about being positive role models and leading outdoors activities for teenage Girl Scouts.

Both Club Leaders must be able to participate in activities with the girls and be in physically fit condition.

The Club Leaders are required to be CPR & First Aid Certified or willing to become certified immediately upon appointment.

Club Description:

The club is dedicated to outdoor activities, especially hiking, and provides young ladies between the ages of 14-17 with unforgettable experiences and camaraderie while exploring a variety of locations in the Tri-State area through all four seasons.

Activities include but are not limited to the following: hiking, trail maintenance, environmental awareness, fitness, wellness, snow sport, and watersport activities.

Volunteer Role Description:

We are looking for one to two responsible individuals to take over leadership of the club that will work together on planning, coordinating, and supervising hiking and outdoor events starting by the end of May or June 2016.

The Club Leaders should facilitate the planning and execution of 1-2 outdoors activities per month based on the girls' collective interests and input. The club's activities must have options that allow for all of the girls' skill and comfort levels.

Club Leaders should include volunteer and educational events for the girls to attend several times per year.

Additional responsibilities involve: maintaining email, phone, and in-person communication with the girls, their parents, and the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Council regarding the club’s happenings; must be diligent about keeping the parents informed of the Club's events schedule several weeks ahead of time.
