Have fun while you help children who are struggling in the reading skills by becoming a Reading Mentor in Power Lunch literacy and mentoring program! Mentors meet with a student at a local public elementary school for one-on-one read aloud sessions that take place each week during the school year. If you share a student with another volunteer, the time commitment is just two lunch hours a month. Power Lunch has proven results in developing the reading skills, enhancing the self-esteem and improving the academic performance of student participants.
Power Lunch operates in thirteen Title I public elementary schools throughout metro Atlanta. Choose the school closest to where you are at lunchtime. The program is easy, fun and rewarding!

Description
The Power Lunch reading program pairs working professionals with students who are failing in their reading skills for one-on-one read aloud sessions that take place each week at lunchtime at nearby public elementary schools. These sessions improve the reading skills, better the academic performance and enhance the self-esteem of program participants.
