Our goal is to promote New York City as friendly, inviting and manageable; to bolster tourism, foster economic development and create opportunities for New Yorkers to show pride in their city and give something back to the city.

Position Summary: Big Apple Greeter is seeking a volunteer Web Developer/Social Media Manager with Word Press experience. Great part time volunteer position for college student, recent grad, or career changer.

Activities :

• · Update WordPress site for page content: text/articles, photos and new pages, customizing menu
• · Back up the WordPress portion of the website
• · Monitor social media sites on a daily basis
• · Post stories on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
• · Post videos on YouTube when needed
• · Must know how to maintain and update WordPress.

Qualifications:

• · Understanding of WordPress or the skills to quickly learn article publishing and the WordPress interface
• · Understanding of HTML and CSS
• · Proficiency in basic Photoshop (or Gimp) for photo editing and resizing
• · Proficiency with social media
• · Excellent communication skills.
