The Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC) is a leading nonprofit organization in Flushing, Queens, committed to empowering survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault to lead safe and healthy lives.

Our Annual Benefit Gala is our premier fundraising event of the year in which we invite donors from all over the Tri-state area to help raise funds for our 360 degrees of culturally competent services. For our 27th(!) gala, we are in HUGE need of volunteers to help make sure everything runs smoothly for our 600+ guests, and if you (or your friends and family) are interested and unafraid of a challenge, we would LOVE to hear from you!

What KAFSC will provide:

* a light dinner

* water/coffee

* giftbag

* HEARTFELT appreciation

Helpful Attributes (varies by role):

* Positive, professional attitude absolutely essential

* Timeliness - volunteers must be on time to fill the roles

* Korean bilingual skills (NOT required)

* Comfortable talking with and engaging guests

* Proficiency in computer work/admin (for registration area)

* Ability to lift heavy objects (for setup/cleanup)

Roles:

* Loading and setup

* Registration

* Greeting guests

* Serving as ushers and spotters

* Serving as assistants for the Silent and Live Auction

* Cleaning up

Time Commitment:

1 day of training (weekday) prior to the event + 1-3 shifts (depending on availability) on the day of the event:

(We are looking to fill a few spots with volunteers who can come at 4PM - please let us know!)

5:00-7:30 PM, 7:00-9:30 PM, 9:00-11:00 PM
