Partner in Employment is a new nonprofit specializing in working with immigrant and refugee populations in South King County to find individuals employment.

We need a creative designer with a technical background to help us realize our vision and create our website using simple platforms like Wix or Wordpress. The final product from you will be a website that our staff can maintain and update.

Responsibilities

• Design a website to achieve our agency’s goals using easily editable web-builders
• Advise agency staff about common web design platforms
• Create visually appealing pages that feature a user-friendly design and clear navigation
• Convert the website to be mobile friendly
• Train agency staff who will be responsible for the website to maintain and update it

Skills

• At least 1-2 years experience in web design working on a collaborative team
• Knowledge of current web standards and web design platforms, such as Word Press or Wix
• Understanding of site architecture, usability and basic interface design principles
• Graphic design experience and experience making your own websites
• Familiarity with the resources and working environment of nonprofits or small agencies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently

Time commitment

This volunteer position is expected to last three to six months.

This position is a great opportunity for someone looking to expand his/her professional portfolio and gain important references. You will report to Partner In Employment's Executive Director and be part of a team that is making a difference in the lives of refugee immigrant populations.
