FIREWORKS FAQ’S

WHY FIREWORKS?

This year, Paws 4 Autism has the privilege of once again running a fireworks stand with volunteer staff which generates significant income over the course of just one week. This year, proceeds will go to help launch our new Train the Trainers program!

WHERE IS THE STAND LOCATED?

We will be located in the parking lot of the Price Chopper in Raintree near the intersection of Highways 291 & 150 in South Lee's Summit near Greenwood, MO.
251 SW Greenwich Dr, Lee's Summit, MO 64082

Click to see location in Google Maps.

WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?

There are various jobs within the tent including running a cash register (18 or older), being a bagger for the cashiers, stocking fireworks, greeting and assisting customers, parking assistance, and keeping watch of the stand.

FYI - June 28 will be setup and stocking day. We need strong backs these days. Like to work with your hands? Up for moving a lot of heavy items? Consider signing up for these days.

WHAT WILL SHIFTS LOOK LIKE?

Each shift is 4 hours long. There is a security guard for the overnight hours so we ALL can rest up!! Shifts are: 8: 00am-12:00 pm; 12:00-4:00 pm; 4:00-8:00 pm; 6:00 pm-10: 00pm; and in July there will be an additional shift of 8:00-midnight.

Please consider signing up for two consecutive shifts to maximize your volunteer time and minimizing your drive time.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

Yes, all volunteers must be age 10 and up. If you have kids under 10 and would still like to help out in some way, consider providing snacks to the volunteer crew.

DO I NEED SPECIAL TRAINING?

Nope! You will get trained when you arrive at the stand. However, cashiers must work at least 1 shift by July 1 in order to run a register on July 2-4.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

You can wear whatever you find comfortable - t-shirt, pants/shorts are perfect! Closed-toe shoes are required (noflip-flops or sandals). PAWS volunteer t-shirts will be given to those working at least 2 shifts :D

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

A readiness to meet great people and sweat! You might also want to bring insect repellent & a chair. We will have snacks and bottled water at the tent.

ARE THERE ANY PERKS?

You bet there are! Besides meeting great people and serving a great cause, each household that volunteers a minimum of 20 hours will receive one coupon for 50% off of their one-time fireworks purchase (up to $200.00 discount which must be used no later than July 2). Those who work a minimum of 10 hours on July 3rd or 4th will receive an awesome fireworks bundle valued at at LEAST $50 per shift worked

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Sign up for your shifts at www.pawsvolunteers.info

OTHER WAYS TO HELP:

1. Volunteer support and encouragement - Sign up to bring snacks and drinks to volunteers and make reminder calls. We provide snacks to our volunteers throughout the season.

2. Military gift bags As a way to honor our military personnel we hand out small bags with personalized thank you notes in addition to a 10% discount on their purchase. Stop by the tent to fill out some thank you cards!

3. Joining together for childcare - Consider organizing some kid watch days. There are a lot of people who would be able to volunteer if they had someone to watch their children while they did so. What if several people got together to watch kids throughout the week?
