The HBIC Summer Experience is designed for High School and College aged individuals looking for pratical experiences with individuals with various disabilities. While this is a great experience for virtually anyone, the target audience would be those seeking or considering a profession in one of the following areas: SPECIAL EDUCATION, CHILD DEVELOPMENT, BEHAVIOR THERAPY, SPEECH & LANGUAGE, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, PHYSICAL THERAPY, or COMMUNITY HEALTH.

Under the direction of trained HBIC staff, volunteers will be responsible for providing direct support to individuals with various disabilities, on site and during community outtings. Support will consist of communication, behavioral, educational, and social.

While this volunteer experience is not easy, nor is it for everyone, it can be incredibly rewarding and eye-opening.
