Legal Services of New Jersey is a non-profit law firm based in Edison, which provides free legal information, advice and referral to the economically disadvantaged of New Jersey.
We are in immediate need of volunteers to support out statewide legal hotline. Many Legal Services clients are facing eviction, threats of domestic violence or a variety of consumer injustices. There is no charge for services, but applicants must be financially eligible to qualify.
Volunteers will be trained to work on this telephone hotline gathering identification/income info and facts about the caller’s legal problems. You will enter this information into a computer based case management system for referral to hotline attorney.
No legal experience is required. Flexible, part-time shifts available Monday- Friday, between 8 am and 6 pm. Training program and scripts provided.
