This year the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia have been selected to participate in the 27th annual First Fridays at 5. First Fridays is a non-profit organization who puts on weekly concerts/events throughout the summer to raise money for local non-profits from all different sectors of the non-profit world who are working in the Roanoke area. The events include live music, great food, and alcohol vendors and are a great place to unwind from the work week. Last year First Fridays raised over $44,000 for the 22 non-profit organizations who participated in their events through their "parties with a purpose." This year we are hoping to beat that!
To participate in the events The Boys & Girls Club needs to provide 10 volunteers for two events this summer. SO if you have some free time on Friday, September 16th between 4:30pm and 9:30pm, we would love to have your help! The events are a great way to network, meet new people, enjoy live music and concessions, as well as help out and support people who are working hard to improve the Roanoke community!
