Take Steps Volunteers...We want you! -- The Take Steps Walk in Denver is looking for volunteers who want to gain some great experience, meet other individuals and have a fun time in the process. We are looking for social groups, corporate groups and individuals looking volunteer either the week of the walk to assist in final preparations or the day of the walk to help with set-up, registration, the Kid's Corral, Cuisine Scene, Water stations, and break down.
Take Steps is the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's nationwide fundraising event. The Take Steps Community is a group of patients, loved ones, friends, & supporters that empower & inspire each other to fight against these diseases.
The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) will hold its annual Take Steps Walk in Denver on Saturday, June 18 to raise funds for research, education and support services. The one mile walk will include a family festival with games, food, live music, children's activities, educational exhibits and is expanding this year to include a Wellness Village. The Denver walk has been supporting patients and the community for more than 20 years.
The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a non-profit. Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are painful, medically incurable diseases that attack the digestive system. These diseases affect 1 in 200 people, which is 1.6 million Americans, including 80,000 children. CCFA funds research for treatments and cures and provides patient education and support programs.

Our mission is to cure and prevent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis through research, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these digestive diseases through education and support.
Description
The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America supports research and education related to inflammatory bowel disease by:
- Holding free educational programs for individuals who live with the daily challenges of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
- Hosting CCFA Camp Oasis, which annually sends children with these diseases to a week-long summer camp free of charge.
- Assembling support groups to help patients and their families cope with their illness on a daily basis.
- Generating cutting-edge research, investigating causes and possible treatments for these diseases.
- Creating much-needed awareness of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and the need for the cure through fun, family-friendly community events.
