Development Resource Coordinator Committee Member

Reporting to the Development Director, the Resource Development Coordinator Committee Member will oversee and implement strategic, sustainable, long-range fundraising and development plans. This role will work closely with different EKARI Foundation committees, Executive Director, Board President and community partners to identify and achieve overall goals for fundraising events and efforts. Generally, 50% of the time will be planning community engagement and fundraising events, 30% on donor outreach, stewardship and tracking, 10% on volunteer recruitment and 10% on grant research.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in increasing corporate and individual donations

  • Research foundations, corporations and governmental grants and assist writing grants

  • Cultivate giving opportunities for group volunteers

  • Assist with reports or insights on donor activity, to inform EKARI’s Board of Directors on donor outreach strategies and activities

  • Assist with tracking donations using Insightly donor management software and thanking donors with the assistance of other committee members, Board of Directors and Executive Director

  • Work with event committees to execute successful fundraising events

  • Recruit committee members and day-of volunteers to support fundraising events

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

  • Strong computer skills

  • Well organized, detail-oriented and resourceful

  • Previous fundraising & donor outreach

  • Event coordination experience

  • Ability to ask for donations

  • Enjoys engaging a diverse community

  • Skilled at planning and organizing

  • Committed to EKARI’s mission

Time Commitment

This position requires a commitment of 3 - 5 hours per week for a minimum of one year. We offer a lot of flexibility in when and how you complete those hours and many of the tasks and responsibilities can be done remotely, working online, at a time that is convenient for you. Every committee member is invited to attend a monthly board of directors meeting.

Compensation

This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run, excluding staff in Malawi and our Executive Director.
