ORGANIZATION: INTERNATIONAL FIELD STUDIES INC

Sunrise at our field station in the Bahamas.

We are looking for volunteer Board members to join our Board of Trustees. Especially those with background/experience in:

Marketing and Advertising (Social Media)
Fundraising (general and capital campaign experience)
Contract Law (International or Nonprofit preferred)


We are also interested in Board members with skills/experience in:

-Science Education (current or former high school or college educator with field study experience)

-Sustainability and renewable energy design

-Wilderness Medicine or Emergency Medical Doctors

We are a non-profit, educational and scientific organization established to promote and assist educators with field study programs. We facilitate research and promote science education at our Forfar Field Station located on Andros Island, Bahamas.

We are looking for enthusiastic, positive people who want to help move our organization forward. We meet 6-8 times per year in the evenings (6:30 PM EST) either in person at our office in Columbus or online (since the pandemic but also have Board members who do not live in Columbus and attend meetings virtually).

International Field Studies, Inc. is a non-profit, educational and scientific organization established to promote and assist educators with field study programs.

Description

We facilitate research and promote science educiton at our Forfar Field Station located on Andros Island, Bahamas. Our goals are to provide opportunities for students to learn about their environment, in all disciplines, through direct field study experiences, to provide the structure for developing an intensive field study program with competent leadership, to promote educational and scientific activities through direct field experiences, and to cooperate with school systems so students may receive academic credit for field studies.
