Content Writer Job Description

Position Summary:

The Disability Allies (DA) is dedicated to providing social opportunities to connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. The Content Writer is a part time position. You must be willing to join us at our monthly committee meetings at the Milltown Public Library at 10am on the Second Saturday of the month. The Content Writer reports to the Director and is responsible for DA publicitty. The title of the position is subject to change before being hired.

Responsibilities:

1. Generates content for the Disability Allies website

2. Ensure articles follow our content policies.

3. Utilize Photoshop and any other software tools necessary to ensure the highest quality content.

4. Utilize our technology to upload and optimize the articles for review by the editors.

5. Be an awesome, positive force for our company culture. Be a self-starter, looking to improve our great company every day.

Qualifications & Competencies:

A bachelor's degree in English, Communications or related field is strongly preferred. Related digital content writing experience strongly preferred. Must have the ability to write in a way that connects with our readers and drives them to share our content with friends and family.

The purpose of the Disability Allies is to plan team building activities that connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. At our events we pair each individual up with a mentor. The job of the mentor is to help the participants with their social skills and insure that everyone interacts with each other. The purpose of the Disability Allies is to plan team building activities that connect young adults and children with and without disabilities. At our events we pair each individual up with a mentor. Our events are open to any young adult that has a disability, knows someone with a disability or is supportive of people with disabilities. Currently our events will take place primarily in central New Jersey. We do plan on expanding and we will soon be doing events in all of New Jersey.
