Community Alliance for Teen Safety is looking for volunteers to help us create and distribute Growth Rings for our Growth Rings project.
Growth Rings are hand-crafted to symbolize and foster mutual support, connection, and respect within the community. The simple act of giving a growth ring denotes a powerful message: ENCOURAGE KINDNESS.
Each ring of the Growth Ring symbolizes the continuous cycle of kindness-not once does the circle have an opening or a break. Kindness has an infinite potential and can continue, never ending, just as each ring represents.
Volunteers are needed to help with creating the wooden rings which includes cutting out the wooden circles, sanding them, and stainning them. We are also looking for groups of volunteers that would be interested in stringing the circles together with paracord.
Once we have enough Growth Ring's made, a distribution event will take place in the Derry.

About Community Alliance for Teen Safety
Location:
1 Hood Rd., Derry, NH 03038, US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote safe habits for all youth by increasing awareness of high-risk behaviors, encouraging healthy choices, and fostering community alliances in the greater Derry region of New Hampshire's Rockingham County.
Description
The Community Alliance for Teen Safety was founded in 1996 after the greater Derry area experienced 11 fatal crashes involving teen drivers during an 18-month period in 1995 and 1996. CATS focused on public outreach and education about safe driving as well as spearheaded legislation to support a graduated licensing bill for teens, to increase the mandatory seat belt age from 12 to 18, to review driver education programs, and to enact mandatory li-cense suspension for moving violations of individuals under 20. The Community Alliance for Teen Safety (CATS) was formed as a result of this grassroots effort. CATS continues to be a force in the community that addresses high-risk behaviors. In addition to driving safety, CATS focuses on teen substance misuse prevention, bullying prevention, internet safety and media literacy, prescription drug disposal and misuse awareness, as well as issues related to the health and safety of youth and families.
