If you're 50 and over, looking for a way to give back to the community, and enjoy working with children, Experience Corps is the program for you.

More than 6 million students are at risk of academic failure and other life challenges because they’re not reading at grade level by the end of third grade. Almost 70 percent of our nation’s children reach 4th grade unable to read at a proficient level. The shortfall in reading proficiency is especially pronounced among low-income children.

Experience Corps is changing the education landscape by helping K-3 children who are struggling with reading. We are the only national program that provides intensive reading intervention from older adult volunteers throughout an entire school year, and have a proven record of helping students reach crucial academic milestones that enables self-sufficiency and the achievement of lifelong success.

Volunteers will be working with students in small groups and supporting the classroom teacher.

No teaching experience is required; just a heart for service and children. We will train you to work with these students. Time commitment desired is for an entire school year, twice a week for at least 2 hours a day. Tutoring time available is Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8am to 6pm.
