Would you like to help older adults and adults with disabilities be supported in the community rather than live in isolation and/or resort to institutional care? Are you looking to gain relevant experience in the healthcare or social services field?
JOIN OUR 2017-18 FULL LIFE AMERICORPS TEAM!
We are looking for 2 national service volunteers to serve from February 1, 2018 to July 31, 2018, joining our current team of AmeriCorps members at Full Life Care.
(Other start dates may be available in February)
Positions available:
-Health Promotion and Volunteer Engagement Specialist at Full Life Adult Day Health, Kent: Provide direct service to elderly and developmentally disabled adults in adult day health centers, including planning and leading daily therapeutic group activities and implementing Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP). Members will also coordinate volunteers at the centers as liaison to our centralized volunteer department.
-Community Engagement Specialist at Sound Generations Volunteer Transportation: Support and assist community members' relationships with volunteer drivers, so they have continued access to transportation. Recruit and coordinate volunteers to help populations over 60 receive accessible and affordable transportation specifically targeting immigrant and refugee populations.

REQUIREMENTS:
*At least 18 years of age
*U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or lawful Permanent Resident
*Must clear National Service Criminal History Checks
*Willingness to commit to 6 month service term, 40 hours/week
*Prefer Bachelor's Degree or some college.
*Prefer experience working with older adults, adults with disabilities, and/or healthcare issues.
