Amazing event full of education, activities, music, arts, crafts, activism and engagement! Support this community event and reap many rewards, including VIP treatment from event and community.

3:30pm-7:30pm = help run booths, activities, logistics, etc. and then help take everything down. We hope to be cleaned up and out of the park by 7:00pm!

The biggest need we still have on Sunday is closing down the event. Come early and enjoy the event, then help us sweep through the park and leave no trace! The more people we have, the faster it will go - and we get to leave early if we are finished!

We also have special needs for people with NV alcohol awareness server cards; please let us know if you can help check ID's. Shifts 10:30am-3:00pm & 2:00-6:30pm

Reno Earth Day is 100% organized and operated by volunteers! The event happens because every comes together to make it happen. Get involved in this important event!

All volunteers who commit at least 4 hours to the event will receive the following benefits:

  • A complimentary Reno Earth Day T-Shirt. We love it if you wear this T-Shirt during your shift so you may be recognized.
  • Free Meal and Water all day! (Also for 21+ one free beer but please wait until after your after your shift if possible)
  • Lots of other gifts and recognitions!
  • An honorary VIP Party as a Thank You, where we can gather your feedback and celebrate the success of the event with free food, drinks and awards.

Location:

Mission Statement

Our philosophy is to bring together the many diverse perspectives on what Earth Day means, creating a forum for all organizations, ideas, strategies and interests to come together for a day of collaboration and cooperation. As the event organizers, we try to maintain a position of non-bias for or against any particular strategy, and leave it to the numerous businesses and organizations to promote specific messages and educate on the various perspectives and strategies. While individual organizers may have personal opinions and positions on various Earth Day topics, the Reno Earth Day’s only agenda is to provide the forum for all of these parties to come together for the day of education and celebration.

Description

Reno Earth Day is a long standing Community Event that draws crowds of thousands every year to Idlewild Park in April. It is the first major event of the season for our area and has been growing every year. Total attendees for the 2013 event were estimated to be 15,000 - 20,000 people. This event holds attractions for all ages, is free to the public and draws a wide demographic of attendees and exhibitors. The event combines educational workshops, earth friendly messages and special exhibits with festival style entertainment, food and drink, activities and games. The entire experience is an interactive celebration designed to educate and inspire regarding clean and green technologies, the natural world around us and the many perspectives on the planet we share.
